Troubleshooting for Nokia products

There are two ways to turn on or off the flashlight.

1. In the standby mode, scroll up the Navi key twice to turn on the flashlight or scroll up once to turn it off.
2. In the standby mode, select the right selection key Go to > Flashlight on or Flashlight off.

When starting walk navigation, select More > Backlight always on to ensure that the backlight doesn't switch off during the navigation.

There are three ways to turn on or off the predictive text input on your device.

• At any text entry screen, for example, in message editor, press and hold Options, predictive text is turned on or off, depending on its previous mode. 

• Or at any text entry screen, select Options > Predictive text (or Prediction, or Prediction options, or Dictionary).

• At any text entry screen, for example, in message editor, press the “#” key twice quickly, then the predictive text is turned on or off, depending on its previous mode. 

To turn on or off the delivery reports for text messages, select Menu > Messaging > Message settings (or Msg. settings) > Text messages > Delivery reports. 

To turn on or off the delivery reports for multimedia messages, select Menu > Messaging > Message settings (or Msg. settings) > Multimedia msgs. > Delivery reports (or Request reports).

On your touch screen device, select Menu > Settings > Personal > Profiles > General > Personalise > Email alert tone > Off.

Select Menu > Messages > Message settings > Delivery reports.

The information the Maps Improvement collects is sent to Nokia to improve the accuracy of the Travel service and the Maps application in general. The data is submitted to Nokia only if you are in WLAN network or if your device is connected to a PC running Nokia Suite.

Although the information is processed in an anonymous manner, you may opt-out from it by changing your settings. To prevent the Map Sensor functionality from sending data to Nokia:

In Maps 3.08 and later:

1. Select Settings > Drive > Maps improvement > Off.

In Maps 3.03, 3.04 or 3.06 for Touch:

1. Select Settings > Navigation > Maps Improvement > Off.

In Maps 3.03 (or later) for Scroll and Click:

1. Select Options > Settings > Navigation > Maps Improvement > Off.

For Maps 3.01:

1. Select Options > Tools > Settings > Navigation > Maps Improvement > Off.

Go to Menu > Ctrl. panel > Connectivity (or Connect.) > Bluetooth > On or Off.

In order to quickly turn the Bluetooth on in the homescreen, you can simply press the Sym key (for example on the E72 device), which has a bluetooth icon. This will toggle the state of Bluetooth to on or off.

With the following steps you can turn the automatic word correction off:

1. Press Start, then swipe left to the App list.
2. Select Settings > Keyboard.
3. Choose a keyboard languages, then press Typing settings
4. Tap on press to change at the top of the screen.
5. In the new window, remove the tick from Correct misspelt words.
6. Tap the Back key once finished.

The light effects are normally associated with incoming calls, missed call notifications and received SMS messages. The light effects may vary between your Nokia device and another Nokia device.

To turn on or off the light effects, select Menu > Settings > Lights > Light effects.
