This demo will highlight the unique benefits and advantages of Nokia’s virtualized Distributed Access Architecture (vDAA) solution including unmatched scale, significant power and space savings, and full architectural flexibility. The demo will feature three access nodes including two next-gen HFC nodes – one functioning as a Remote PHY Device (RPD) and one as a Remote MACPHY Device (RMD) – and one EPON DPoE node, all of which will be under the direction of a single virtualized Gainspeed Access Controller. Each node will be supporting QAM and/or IP video along with high-speed data. In the headend/hub, along with the Gainspeed Access Controller, there will be a Gainspeed virtualized CMTS (vCMTS), a Nokia Virtual Service Router (VSR), a Nokia 7210 Service Access Switch and a Gainspeed Video Engine. We will also visually present Nokia’s Service Converged Interconnect Network (sCIN). Nokia’s CIN layer network allows cable operators to leverage the FP4 based 7750-SR to deliver high bandwidth as well as customer subscriber management (including lawful intercept), in line DDoS protection and unified broadband gateway. This allows operators to not only use the CIN layer to transport packets, but also provides a multi access layer for DAA, xPON, WIFI and 4G/5G residential services.
