My story in Nokia started in 2006 when a couple of Finnish HR Managers invited me to join Nokia in Venezuela to take care of a great HR Challenge due to the Nokia/Siemens joint venture happening in 2007. That's when my long professional life changed. I still remember my words after the first week of induction: “I finally found a company that matches my personal and professional interests, I’m convinced this is going to be a long term relationship!”. And I was not wrong. With more than 20 years of HR experience and more than 10 years after that first day, here I am in Mexico, many miles away from my homeland, holding a very challenging regional position. Of course I’ve earned a few grey hairs in my collection of different roles and locations along with a number of friends and experiences that I will always carry full of pride and gratefulness. When people ask me what I value the most about Nokia I don’t hesitate to say that it is all about people and values. It is the company culture based on values of challenge and continuous renewal which make me feel so energized most of the time. Definitely no room for routine, which is perfectly aligned with my passionate lifestyle. The secret to success in Nokia is very easy: work hard, be engaged, show respect and work on your personal and team development. Do this and doors will automatically open for new opportunities. Today, not saying it has been an easy journey, I can thank Nokia and its leaders for letting me live the Nokia brand and culture and making it part of who I am, and giving me the chance to develop myself in such great and diverse environment. I’m also grateful for giving my family -who is the most important priority in my life- the opportunity to experience of living in a different country, for being so supportive during a very hard time I faced due to a serious illness, and for pushing me to persevere. Thanks to that I feel encouraged to give and to do my best each and every day! I’m extremely proud to be here at Nokia and value my colleagues and friends all over the world as an important part of my life.
