Nokia Networks appoints Ray Owen as head of Australia and New Zealand
Owen has 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry
Previously head of sales development for Nokia Networks in the Asia Pacific region

Nokia Networks has announced the appointment of Ray Owen as the head of Australia and New Zealand. In his new role, he will be responsible for managing Nokia Networks' sales and operations across the region.
As part of Nokia's overall vision in enabling the programmable world and 5 billion people expected to be connected by 2020, Nokia Networks is focused on harnessing the potential that the mobile broadband business offers in the Australian and New Zealand market. Ray Owen has been entrusted with the responsibility of managing the strategy to accelerate the leadership in radio, grow professional services and win in technology transition to Telco Cloud and Software Defined Networking. In addition to further strengthening the company's long-standing relationships with the operator community, he will also play a pivotal role in exploring business opportunities in the Internet of Things and Analytics.
With two decades of extensive experience in multiple customer-facing, sales, marketing, R&D and leadership roles, Ray has the credentials and the acumen required to further strengthen Nokia Networks' business in Australia and New Zealand. In his last assignment, he was heading sales development in the Asia Pacific region for the company.
Ray will report to Paul Tyler, senior vice president of Asia Pacific at Nokia Networks.

Born in the UK, Ray holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of London. He has also obtained a Doctorate of Philosophy (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) from the University of Birmingham in the UK.
