Orange launches global lab in Egypt with Nokia Networks to support affiliates worldwide

Orange and Nokia use Egyptian skills to introduce new technologies to Orange group Orange Operational Skill Center hosted on Mobinil premises will validate Nokia Networks products and software for deployment Nokia Networks provides latest equipment and expertise Cairo, Egypt – 02 September 2015 Mobinil, part of Orange Group, has hosted Orange Global Operational Skill Center for the deployment of Nokia’s radio technologies. Within this role, Mobinil will test and validate Nokia’s new products for all affiliates of Orange worldwide, and help them ensure superior voice and data services for their customers. For this purpose Mobinil has launched a global lab in Cairo that includes Nokia’s latest network hardware and software. This lab will perform all the needed testing for Nokia’s new technologies. The two companies celebrated the launch of this new start-of-the-art center recently in Cairo in the presence of Yves Gauthier, Mobinil CEO; Eng. Yasser Shaker, Mobinil Technology VP; Thierry Balouka, Head of Orange Global Customer Business Team at Nokia Networks; Mounir El Aichaoui, Head of North Africa Market Unit at Nokia Networks; and Hani Adel, Head of Mobinil Customer Team at Nokia Networks. On this occasion, Eng. Yasser Shaker, Mobinil Chief Technology Officer, said: “We are proud to host this global center as part of Mobinil in Egypt, and thanks to our long-term partner Nokia Networks for the excellent support of its committed experts and services. The launch is a testimony to the world-class indigenous talent pool we have here locally that supports the introduction of advanced 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE broadband technologies, not only for our network in Egypt, but also for Orange’s networks across the world.” Thierry Balouka, Head of Orange Global Customer Business Team at Nokia Networks, said: “The Orange Global Skill Center is not only a testimony to our support of the Orange Group and its affiliates around the world, but also to the long-term strategic partnership between Nokia and the Orange Group.
