Threat Intelligence Report 2023
The Nokia Threat Intelligence Report 2023 provides insights into the trends on 4G and 5G security attacks, malware attacks, Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks and other forms of telco cyberattacks on fixed and mobile networks around the world.
The latest report has found that IoT botnet DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) traffic, originating from a large number of insecure IoT devices with the aim of disrupting telecom network services for millions of users, increased fivefold over the past year, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and stemming from the growing increase in profit-driven hacking collectives operated by cybercriminals.
Middle East & Africa Broadband Index Report
Nokia's MEA Mobile Broadband Index provides a comprehensive overview of the MEA region’s mobile broadband landscape. The in-depth report highlights the steady growth of 5G in the Middle East and Africa region (MEA) as well as its impact on digital transformation.
It confirms that the Middle East is far ahead of Africa in terms of 5G adoption, while many operators in Africa are still developing their business models around 4G. It also states that voice traffic still relies on 2G and 3G networks in many parts of the region.
Nokia’s People & Planet 2023 outlines performance relating to the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. The ESG strategy consists of the five following strategic focus areas: Environment, Industrial Digitalization, Security & Privacy, Bridging the Digital Divide, and Responsible Business. Nokia’s ESG strategy aims to maximize impact in the areas most material to the company and its stakeholders and is integral to the technology and business decisions it takes.
The report states that digitalization can play a critical role in decarbonizing industry and helping society mitigate and adapt to climate change and that progress made in 2023 provides a solid foundation as Nokia aims to develop ESG into a competitive advantage.
