Generative AI is a branch of machine learning (ML) that creates new content (e.g., text, images, and audio) from training data. This paper explains generative AI and examines how it can affect various functions in a telco's business, from network design to customer care. It also looks at the benefits for telcos and describes the questions telcos need to answer when making decisions about generative AI.
