Transitioning from 4G to 5G SA in a private wireless network

We explain at a high level in this paper how Nokia’s private wireless network core can use its cloud-native design to deploy first a 4G LTE core, then migrate the network and the core to 5G Standalone operation without a forklift of any kind, and without disrupting service. This is possible based on the design philosophy that a Nokia product should be able to function as a 4G element, or its equivalent 5G network function based on its configuration.
