Vodafone Australia realizes Nokia-enabled network virtualization blueprint

Nokia Networks is a long-term partner of Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA). Since the signing of the first managed services deal between the companies in 2006, their relationship has grown stronger, working together to transform the way VHA delivers services and providing a better experience to its subscribers.
To strengthen the value proposition towards its customers, VHA’s strategy team looked at the migration of network services to the cloud. Cloud computing is revolutionalizing the way network resources are provisioned, and it is an important enabler for network expansion, allowing increased agility for operators which face a potential decline in revenue from traditional telecom services such as voice and SMS.
Among other things, Nokia Networks has been working with VHA to provide innovative consulting services on network evolution, including a real-time analysis of migrating services to the cloud. This migration is seen as a strategic step for VHA, as the operator needs to overcome the limitations of legacy infrastructure amidst a rapidly changing technology landscape.
With a blueprint in place, Nokia Networks cloud wise consulting helped VHA understand the virtualization of network resources from concept to realization, with network strategic planning based on representative areas of VHA’s network today.
Recently VHA’s Head of Network Strategy, Jeff Owen, visited our Solution Experience Center at Espoo and talked about the importance of a robust blueprint for virtualization of network resources and how Nokia Networks cloud wise services helped VHA do just that.
These initiatives will undoubtably give VHA an edge over other providers. Visit our website by clicking here.
