Mobile Infrastructure Innovation
Nokia won the award for deploying a temporary Pop-Up Network to help Vodafone Italy deliver the best event experience at an outdoor rock concert.
Business Service Innovation
Nokia won the award for building and operating an IP backbone network for Airtel Africa, providing essential connectivity to over 76 million subscribers across Africa.
2016 Leading Lights Award
Nokia won the industry’s most coveted SDN award in 2016, the Leading Lights award for “Most Innovative SDN Product Strategy.”
Small Cell Forum Award
Nokia won an award in the category "Small cell access point design and technology" with 'World's first small cells to deliver more than 1Gbps peak data rates' project.
Small Cell Forum Award
Excellence in commercial deployment (Residential) category with a 4G LTE CellSpot project, carried out in cooperation with T-Mobile and Qualcomm.
Lightwave Innovation Review award 2016
Each year Lightwave convenes a panel of independent judges to evaluate new products and score them on based on their innovation. This year we scored a “perfect 5” with the Nokia 1830 PSS 500G Muxponder! Judges were wowed by the card’s flexible capabilities, which are powered by the PSE-2 optical chipset: One judge said: “I believe this product will be the first for both dual-carrier PSE, single-carrier 400G, while in a reasonably dense footprint. Ethibel Sustainability Index (ESI) Excellence Europe and Ethibel Sustainability Index (ESI) Excellence Global
The ESI Excellence Global and ESI Excellence Europe indices have reconfirmed our combined company amongst the best rated companies in Europe and among the largest companies worldwide on the basis of the Forum ETHIBEL’s ratings and in accordance with the Ethibel Sustainability Indices Rulebook.
Vodafone recognizes Nokia's high ethical and sustainability standards and marks the culmination of the investment Nokia has made in employee training on its Code of Conduct, ethical business practices as well as the Nokia Life Saving Rules program.
Nokia Bell Labs won the Irish Laboratory award in the category “Laboratory Team of the Year”
The award recognizes disruptive innovations of the Small Cells Research Department in Ireland in the past year in the areas of capacity scaling of cellular networks, multi-path networking, the creation of Motive’s Small Cell SON Engine, and enabling the world’s first cellular interaction detection.
