For the second year in a row, Nokia has shown it is a sustainability leader, being listed in the global Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). And this year, we were recognized as an industry leader in the CMT Communications Equipment sector, achieving industry best in 16 out of 21 criteria.

Nokia won a third place award in the category “Everything Industrial & Enterprise: Mobile Enterprise Innovation” with its Unmanned Aerial System Traffic Management (UTM) solution that will provide centralized monitoring and control of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehichles) via a mobile network ensuring automated and safe UAV traffic.

The Best Lean Projects of the Year in Finland competition took place in their annual seminar on September 1, 2016 in Helsinki, rewarding the best lean projects of 2015. Nokia won the award with its new assembly concept in Oulu Factory, where productivity was improved by +30% and factory lead time was reduced by -30%.

Together, Nokia and China Mobile conducted a trial of Centralized RAN technology within a TD-LTE network in a sports stadium to demonstrate how the combination can meet the high-speed, high-bandwidth demands generated by big sporting and entertainment events.
