Sandy Moetly


Sandy Motley was appointed President of Nokia’s Fixed Networks Business Group on January 1st, 2019. As such, she is responsible for managing the Fixed Networks business, operations and portfolio with a strong focus on profitable growth. Previously, Sandy held the position of Chief Operating Officer of Nokia’s Fixed Networks Business Group, in charge of supply chain, advanced procurement, transformation and commercial management, and overseeing topics related to Quality, IT and Real Estate.

She joined Nokia in 2016 as Head of end-to-end solutions on the North American Market, responsible for pro-actively defining and managing key cross-Business Group product and services solutions in alignment with customers, market needs and the Nokia strategy.

Sandy started her career at Bell Labs, where she led teams responsible for the design, analysis and manufacturing of military systems. She then moved to Wireless where she was motivated by a strong desire to ensure commercial success in this business. Sandy progressed through a series of positions that showcased her expertise in product design, bids and proposals, contract management, and portfolio product management. While VP and General Manager of the CDMA Product Unit, Sandy led a product operation responsible for $2 billion in annual sales, maintaining a keen focus on profitability and expense reduction. Based on her technical depth and sales acumen, Sandy moved to Vice President Sales, U.S. Wireless Accounts, where she was credited with securing many LTE business wins. Leveraging her strong multi-faceted background, she became the COO for the Wireless Business where she was responsible for various R&D, Quality and Operational functions. Sandy also held the position of Leader of the RBC for Alcatel-Lucent’s Wireless Business Line where she was responsible for the North America & CALA pre and post sales business operations for a multi-billion dollar business spanning all Wireless technologies.

In addition, Sandy was on the Board of Directors of the Alcatel-Lucent Foundation and is the executive sponsor for Nokia’s HISPA organization. She has also been named to the Board of Advisors for Light Reading’s Women in Communications.

In 2012, Fierce Wireless named Sandy to its annual list of The Top 10 Most Influential Women in The Wireless Industry and RCRWireless named her to The Top Ten Women in Wireless. Previously, Sandy was a member of the Competitive Carriers Association Board of Directors.

Sandy has MS and BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo, completed PhD Mechanical Engineering coursework at Columbia University, fulfilled an Executive Business Program at Smith College and received a MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
