Purchasing a Nokia phone through an unauthorised retail or online channel may result in the purchase of a phone that fails to be of an acceptable quality or is not ‘fit for purpose’.

In many instances phones are optimised for local conditions to support the local mobile operator networks and ensure the optimal customer experience.

Nokia’s warranty only covers authentic Nokia phones that are sold in the country in which they were intended by Nokia to be sold.

Any Nokia phone bought from retailers overseas or who are not authorised Nokia resellers will not be covered by Nokia’s warranty.

Simple questions to ask a retailer:

- Is the phone I am purchasing optimised for use on local network/s?

- Who is providing me with the warranty – the seller or the manufacturer?

- How do I obtain warranty support if something goes wrong with the phone?

- Does the phone come with a genuine Nokia charger with New Zealand power plug pins?
