A Monolithic Signal Isolator

New Image

This paper describes the design and construction of a monolithic isolator, a two-port device designed to pass information across an isolated boundary. Among its features are: large signal linearity, passive sensing capability, 1% precision at set point, 5% overall, 200 ppm/sup o C,a 3 dB bandwidth of from DC to 1.0 MHz, a common mode rejection of >110 dB at 1 KHz, galvanic isolation blocking up to 1400 volts, an isolation capacitance of 5 pf and the capability of being monolithically integrated with other circuit functions.
