A Small Transcontinental File System Experiment

As an experiment, we install servers for our network file system on two machines in California running various versions of UNIX(TM. The file system protocol (neither NFS nor RFS) and point of view are moderately adapted to the security needs of independently administered machines, so that, for instance, I can not use one of the remote systems. The talk will outline the design goals and experience from local use, and from the transcontinental experiment.
