Automatic switching for telex-operation
14 November 1963
Describes operational facilities in the BTM 7E teleprinter exchanges of A.C. & R. in New York and San Francisco. Telex connections between US telex stations and some 70 countries can be established, making an international numbering plan and technical compatibility necessary. Basically a keyboard selection system, dialled calls have to be possible. Calls can be handled via operators or automatically. All features of modern telex are incorporated, such as "answer-back", warning while tape is being punched, time and date information and automatic billing. Test facilities are available upon selection of a special code.
