Automation framework design to enhance the capabilities of IMS functional testing
02 August 2017
The paper deals with the design of a Robot based automation framework that can be used for the enhancement of the capabilities and standards of an enterprise functional testing. The paper firstly introduces IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystems) and the necessity to build an end-to-end framework for functional testing. The protocol involved for call handling is the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). Along with SIP, protocols like Rammbock is used as a protocol tester and Diameter to handle different set of messages during the session. The proposed framework uses Keyword driven approach for writing the test scripts. The results are stored in a dedicated file called EclipseRobo that contains the log file which is an html page. The framework is implemented and found to be effective because there is no need for a user to do any manual configurations and cost effective as it involves open source tools in its development.
