Ballistic Electron Transport Beyond 100microns in Two-Dimensional Electron Systems

In recent experiments, van Houten et al. have demonstrated coherent electron in a 2D electron gas. The electrons were emitted by a point contact and refocused by a perpendicular magnetic field at a second point contact separated 3microns from the point of emission. We have employed this technique to investigate carrier scattering processes in 2D electron systems.
