Baseband Pooling in 4G Cellular Networks

A Mobile Cloud BBU Pool is serving multiple sectors and accepts that the system capacity can be limited by processing resources. The processing resources are dimensioned according to demand probability. Therewith a pooling gain can be realized. The research questions discussed in the presentation are: How large is this pooling gain, depending on the number of combined sectors? How important is a reasonable placement of tasks on processing units?
