Basic Network Design Concepts
09 February 1987
In this twenty-minute talk, we describe and compare various traffic network design options for a small five-node network. After introducing the erlang B blocking formula, we consider a fully interconnected network, a tandem-switched "star" network, and an alternate-routing network. If time permits, we will also examine Truitt's ECCS method (C.J. Truitt, BSTJ, 1954).
