Behavior of gas discharge plasma in high-frequency electromagnetic fields
14 December 1951
Describes various expts. on the u.h.f. properties of low-pressure gaseous discharges. In the first expts. the discharge tube was inserted in a coaxial line and the properties of the discharge, in various gases, e.g. the attenuation due to it, found at varying currents and pressures. Electron densities were thus estimated. Expts. on noise in discharges, at 2000 Mc/s, were also carried out and are described. Finally, an account of expts. on pulsed discharges and their "afterglows" is given.
