The adoption of an efficient arrangement of inter-connecting selector outlets is considered. Various theories are examined and both "symmetrical" and "slipped" commoning in grading arrangements are compared. A theory for equating the traffic on the basis of equivalent first-choice value is explained and compared with the results of a 50-hr artificial traffic study.
