Block Interleaver Dimensioning and Real-Time Demonstration for Ground-to-Satellite Optical Communications

We consider strong-turbulence ground-GEO optical links and dimension the required interleaver length. We estimate experimentally the implementation efficiency of block interleaver using a real-time FPGA-based receiver.
