Blue, red and near-IR CCD images of the field of the extraordinary QSO pair 1146+111B,C are examined for gravitational lens multiple image candidates for all 4 QSOs in the field. No third image of 1146+111B,C is found , down to 4 mag fainter than B,C. This implies a compact lens mass distribution. C appears to be redder than B in the wavelength region .7-1micron. Three blue stellar objects of unusual color are found at plausible locations for multiple images of the other two QSOs in the field.
