Computer Communications Technology: Past, Present and Future

This is an invited talk before an audience of executives of credit unions. It attempts to popularize technical concepts for a largely nontechnical audience. The growth of data communications is traced from the 1940's to today's Information Movement and Management (IM&M). The future technological evolution of IM&M is tied to the mastery of complexity, the standardization of processes, and the improvement of the interface between humans and machines.
