Construct Validation Needs in Vocational Behavior Theories
Construct validation needs for theories of vocational behavior are discussed. Despite numerous research publications, a universally accepted construct definition of job satisfaction has yet to be realized. Also, new theories and models present job satisfactoriness in increasingly complicated ways that need construct support. Relative to the construct validation aspects of the newest research studies involving the theory of work adjustment, it is suggested that research results relative to the five-factor model of personality should be considered. Support for new constructs needs to be amplified by research involving different methodology.
