Admission control aims at preventing computer networks from becoming congested so that accepted flows receive a sufficient level of performance. In this paper, we provide a practical evaluation between three of the existing measurement-based admission controls. We implement each of these solutions in the network simulator NS3 and we consider several scenarios with various types of traffic. Unlike existing works, we assume no specific pattern for the incoming traffic and no traffic shaper at the edge of the network. Our results provide a comparison of these solutions, exhibiting both the maximum reachable utilization of the network and the actual performance of accepted flows. MOTS-CLÉS : KEY WORDS:
