Creating Intellectual Capital Advantage: Really Leveraging Innovation
A methodology is presented for a process to better manage intellectual capital (later defined as explicit technical knowledge). The findings presented will concern the alignment of business strategy, organizational learning as part of the product technology roadmapping process, and aggressive management of the technology attack strategies. A novel application of the soon to be released commercial version of the "Pathfinder" national intelligence assest will be presented. The application will demonstrate the ability to develop multi-company pre-competitive technology development teams based upon the analysis and selection of specific innovations and expertise as reflected in a database of patents. By transforming technological advances into development-ready technical capabilities, such "virtual: teams will accelerate the use of multi-company innovation in product and services portfolios. This methodology further facilitates the management of emerging technologies by increasing interaction and communications between multi-company research, development, and business leadership organizations.
