CV-QKD over optical coherent communication systems

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) provides information-theoretical secure exchange of cryptographic key between different parties. This model of security does not depend on the resources of the attacker, so long term security can be guaranteed. The continuous variable counterpart (CV-QKD) simplifies the hardware required for the implementation in relation to the discrete variable systems and follows a scheme that shares many elements with the classical coherent communication systems.
