Cyclotron resonance in the 2-dimensional hole gas in (GaAl)As/GaAs heterostructures.

Cyclotron resonance has been observed in the two-dimensional hole gas found in selectively doped heterostructures and multi- quantum wells, in magnetic fields up to 20 Tesla. The results are compared with recent theories as well as a simple model of the 2D hole band structure obtained by taking a section through the 3D valence band at a finite wave vector along the growth direction. Only rough quantitative agreement is achieved.
