D3.3 Final Report on Green Network Technologies
21 August 2012
The main goal of EARTH project is to reduce the power consumption of cellular networks by 50%. This document is the final report on energy efficiency improvements expected from green network technologies studied by WP3. These technologies include deployment strategies, network management concepts, radio resource management techniques and some proposals for future architectures that are inherently designed to be energy efficient. This report quantifies the saving of each of the strategies on its own. A parallel deliverable [EARTH-D6.4][EARTH-D6.4] will study integrated solutions using combinations among these and with radio technology strategies to demonstrate how EARTH achieves the ultimate goal of 50% energy saving on system level.
