DACS II Software Architecture

The DACS II Software is distributed over eight processing nodes interconnected by a Local Area Network. Each LAN node runs a real time operating system kernal under a virtual machine layer to provide LAN-transparent inter-process communication over the entire system. The architecture of the software is presented in three hierarchical layers: the distributed operating system, database, and application.
