Data Modeling as a Systems Engineering Discipline

Logical data modeling is an essential step in the accurate design and development of a database to store the data requirements of any computer-based application. This talk focuses on the process of data modeling and describes how it is an important component of systems engineering at AT&T. We use service provisioning as an example, and talk about the scope of data modeling in the service provisioning systems engineering work.
