Data Networking with the DATAKIT II Virtual Circuit Switch

The need to tie computers, networks, and software applications into a cost-effective, manageable corporate resource is being increasingly recognized by AT&T's large customers as a strategic part of their businesses. In response, AT&T has identified data networking as a key area of emphasis for near- and long- term products and services. One such product, the Datakit(R) Virtual Circuit Switch (VCS), has been successfully deployed in a wide variety of customer-premises and local exchange carrier environments as a networking vehicle for the large, non-homogeneous embedded base of computing equipment and as the defacto industry standard.
