Design Considerations for Magnetic Components Used in a 20 MHz Converter

Power converters are being operated at higher frequencies to reduce the size of magnetic components. Magnetic components have been developed with profiles less than 0.2 inch for 50 watt, one cubic inch, power converters operating at 20 MHz. Design considerations are discussed for these components. These considerations include: magnetic core materials, core geometries and conductor arrangements.
