A directly coupled non-centered resonant irises filter has been designed, constructed and measured. Practical design issues and experimental results of this type of filter in waveguide technology are presented in this paper. The device provides a broadband and highly selective response in Ka band, in addition to far-off higher pass-bands, in accordance with the theory and electromagnetic simulations presented by the authors earlier. This behavior is due to the use of resonant irises, which overcome the intrinsic bandwidth limitations of traditional cavity filters. The measured results confirm the validity of the design method, and the high quality performance of these broadband devices
