Design & Evaluation of a User Interface for a PACS Display Workstation

A new set of image manipulation features has been designed and implemented for the AT&T CommView(R) system display workstation (DW). This set of features, the Enhanced Graphics Subsystem (EGS), provides capabilities not included in previous versions. Based on in-depth interviews with experienced users of the CommView(R) system, a user interface based on dedicated keys was developed for use with the DW equipped with the EGS. Prototype versions of the EGS were used to evaluate the detailed design of the features and interface provided. The results of the evaluations were used to refine and finalize the EGS package.
