Design of an On-Line Telecommunication Service Definition Tool Based on Expert System Technology

An on-line service definition tool can be used to expedite the process of mapping an end customer's telecommunications needs to the existing network services. The Service Definition Expert System (SDES) is a knowledge-based prototype designed to perform on-line service definition. The main purpose of service definition is to find the suitable service, the features/options for the selected service, and any marketing and design information to support a sales proposal.
