Design of single-frequency phase-shifting networks

Given the desired phase shift, the number of sections and impedance-multiplication ratio between successive sections are varied to suit output matching requirements. The rule-of-thumb figure of 10 for the latter leads to inefficient design, better results being obtained with lower values and more sections. Standard design curves are given.
