While the expression "data sharing" has been a popular topic in information system literature for several years. it is much more honored in print than in practice. Business processes which have evolved independently often view the same data in very different ways. This paper discusses strategies for designing a relational database which will be shared by multiple user groups with different views os the data, using DB2 as the target database. It suggests approaches to the representation of domains, entities, attributes, relationships, subtypes and supertypes, and other entity structures in a shared environment
