Detailed Simulation of OSI Networks Via Executable ADA Specifications

The Ada language is presented as a candidate standard for the precise specification and detailed simulation of OSI networks. Language features that match the needs of specification and simulation are first outlined and then illustrated through a brief example based upon studies of OSI based MAP networks. Finally, the pros and cons of using Ada are discussed, and it is concluded that Ada is a good match for OSI network specification and simulation.
