Determination of k(Xsi) factors for Z > 8.

X-ray sensitivity ("Cliff-Lorimer" k-) factors have been determined for a limited number of elements including oxygen, on an ultra- thin window (UTW) Si(Li) energy dispersive X-ray detector interfaced to a scanning transmission electron microscope. An application of these results to the analysis of silica is demonstrated.
