Development of Oil-Resistant and Fire-Resistant Sealing Materials For Outside-Plant Applications

Two new sealing compound materials have been developed for outside-plant equipment, such as splice cases or closures, which require oil resistance or fire resistance. The oil-resistant material improves the integrity of closure seals exposed to petroleum environments, such as encountered in a manhole containing gasoline.
