Dimensioning of elastic optical packet switched metro rings

We propose a dimensioning algorithm for all-optical packet rings equipped with elastic or fixed mixed line rate (MLR) transponders and show that elastic TRX can reduce network cost by up to a factor 2 with respect to MLR networks.
