Direct measurement of constellation diagrams of optical sources

We present the first temporal diagnostic that measures statistical information on both the intensity and phase of data-encoded channels. Experimental characterization of differential-phase shift keyed signals at 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s is presented.
