Direct measurement of second order dispersion in short optical fibers using white-light interferometry.

We report the first direct measurement of the second order dispersion coefficient beta. The measurement was done on a single-mode fiber of 1 m length with the help of a Mach- Zehnder interferometer and a white-light source.
