E2 effective charges of g (9/2) nucleons derived from quadrupole moments of high spin isomers in (88,90,91)Zr and (90,92,94)Mo.

Static quadrupole moments of 8(+) isomers in (88,90)Zr and the 21/2(+) state in (91)Zr as well as ratios of Q-moments of 8(+) states in (90,92,94)Mo, have been measured using the TDPAD technique. The isomers were excited by pulsed heavy ion beams and recoil implanted into single crystals of Zr in which their spin precession was observed. These results, the first such data obtained for nuclear isomers in the g (9/2) shell, have yielded definitive values for the effective charges for the valence g(9/2) proton and neutron, providing unique information on the isospin dependence of the effective charge.
