Echo Control in the Long Distance Network

Echo can be a problem in long distance transmission. This talk will describe the components of echo, namely propagation delay and echo return loss, and explain how they adversely affect voice transmission quality. I will give a brief description of AT&T's ability to control echo through the Via Net Loss Plan, which is in the public domain.
