Efficient Parallel Addition

Organizations such as firms process information about their environment that is needed for decision-making. Radner(1990) models the managers of firms as parallel processors, and considers how the optimal architecture of parallel processing networks for adding numbers bears on the optimal management structure and the information processing costs of firms. He leaves open a few questions about efficient networks, two of which are answered here.
