New Image

A scanned color printing scheme employing a two dimensional bilevel active-matrix-addressed nematic liquid-crystal light modulator is described for producing 512 x 480 pixel continuous tone color images on 3M color dry silver paper and Mead microencapsulated paper. The system is inherently insensitive to isolated defects in the light modulator.
